Bayonne Muslim - Miraj Center at St Henry's Vandalized

Posted on: 14 October 2016

—FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

BAYONNE, NJ (OCTOBER 14, 2016)  The vandalizing of Bayonne's Muslim Community Miraj Center last night was a cowardly and hateful act, but it is an isolated incident, particularly in our home town of Bayonne. The people of this great city make up a great community, one of love and understanding. It is our position that the individual(s) who committed this atrocious and bigoted crime represent neither the people of Bayonne nor of this great nation.

We will not allow this to divide us. Regrettably, the perpetrator(s) have been influenced by the divisive hate speech which has unfortunately and wrongfully become common during these times. Divisiveness is not a trait befitting the diverse and accepting people of this wonderful city. Since the occurrence of this incident and even before it, the Muslim community has received great support from our neighbors and fellow citizens.

We have the full support of, and are working closely with local law enforcement, and have full confidence in their ability to conduct their investigation and protect our community members.

We also want to offer a special thank you to Father Raul and the other Clergy for their continued cooperation and support.

We will also be hosting as part of a national campaign an open Mosque Day on October 23rd from 1 PM to 3 PM and invite all neighbors and members of the Bayonne community to attend.

THE PICTURES ARE TOO OFFENSIVE TO POST HERE.  GOD IS BEAUTIFUL AND WE WILL NOT SHARE ANY VULGARITY ASSOSCIATED WITH HIS NAME.
