Bayonne Muslim community condemns Paris attacks

Posted on: 13 November 2015

Bayonne Muslims community mourns the horrific loss of life in this weeks attacks in Paris that left many people dead, injured and traumatized.

These savage and despicable attacks on civilians, whether they occur in Paris, or anywhere else, are outrageous and without justification. We condemn these horrific crimes, and our thoughts and prayers are with the loved ones of those killed and injured and with all of France. The perpetrators of these heinous attacks must be apprehended and brought to justice.

We are distressed to learn that the politically-motivated extremists claiming responsibility for these attacks are justifying their deeds in the name of our faith. Their actions have no justification!

As Muslims, we reaffirm our belief, as emphasized in the Quran, that whoever kills one life, it is as if they have killed all of humanity, and whoever saves even one life, it is as if they have saved all of humanity (Chapter 5: Verse 32).

We call for peace, healing, and justice for the victims, as well as an end to violence against the innocent in any and every part of the world.
